One of the highlights of the Maisel & Friends Home Brew Bayreuth hobby brewing festival is the award ceremony for the hobby brewing competition. Paul Schüssler cheered in 2023.

His Hoppy Dunkel won over the renowned jury of 16 beer experts in the blind tasting. His interpretation of the Munich Dunkel modern style beer won out over 147 other beers submitted. The special thing about this hobby brewing competition is that the winners get to brew their recipe on the large brewing system at Liebesbier in Bayreuth and serve it in the Craft Drinks Area at BrauBeviale.

In the interview, Paul Schüssler explains why the beer style was a special challenge. Reports on the "all-round carefree package" at the brew day in Bayreuth. He reveals his recipe and whets the appetite for the next task. "The next recipe is a wheat IPA. There's a lot in it, you can really let off steam ... "
